I just need to get this off my chest.......

Shout it from the rooftops!!! The financial crisis is over!! You'd be forgiven for thinking it was if you looked at the blanket reaction to Fred Goodwin losing his knighthood.
This is a purely political rant from me here, but it's been getting on my nerves and is a prime example of how the mass public can be easily controlled.

Unless you hadn't noticed, things had been getting a little hairy for Mr. Cameron recently. Bankers bonuses, Stephen Hester being forced into not taking his (after pressure from everyone except the prime minister-no one said to strip his bonus away but for for gods sake at least imply that it might be a good idea), Argentina want the Falklands again, the European fiasco and of course the never ending cuts that seem to have spiralled us deeper into recession.
But wait, here's a thought, remember how pissed everyone was at old Fred the shred?! Let's get rid of his knighthood that should keep ‘em quiet! And it bloody has!! Looking at the general reaction across the country you'd think we were on the path to recovery. 'But wait, it's symbolic' I hear you say. Rubbish. Less we forget that just about any celebrity seems to be put in line for a knighthood these days and Fred will still be receiving his bloody great pension. I understand what Fred did was utterly deplorable, but would you really have him lined up with Robert Mugabe!!!!? I'd like to think that next week we'd continue where we left off and force the government into making more intelligent and forward looking decisions, but I doubt it. For now I guess everyone will just happily jump on the bandwagon.

That's it. Rant over. Oh, and the following days paper made no mention of Fred or bankers bonuses, just a new flesh eating flew cold MRSA type thing that we should all fear. God help you if you sneeze in public.
